where we are... I just found out that my pet milk goat might possibly have CL. I have been in contact with all three vets in the area and they all gave me pretty much the same advice. Don't let her absecceses burst while she is on our farm. Get her off of our farm as soon as possible. Vaccinate the rest of the herd. There is a vaccine and although is is made for sheep the vets in this area use it for goats as well. The goat owners I have spoken with that have had to deal with CL say that if you can vaccinate your goats before they develop CL they don't seem to get it. I don't know if anyone knows for sure how long it stays in your soil or what you can do to completely get rid of it. I have gotten various answers on the effectiveness of spraying a bleach solution. This has really made both me and my husband just sick as we are just beginning with goats and I was especially attached to this one. Good luck. If you get anymore information on CL I would sure appreciate it!
